New in in v. 2.30 / 2.40
V. 2.40 includes data transfer over LAN through TCP/IP interface. Connect your SprayWatch to another PC over network to monitor measured parameters remotely, to transmit data to other applications or to build a closed-loop spray system by connecting SprayWatch to PC-based spray controller. Refer to document "SprayWatch TCP Interface.pdf" for more details.
Bug fixes in v. 2.30:
- Some previous versions had a problem that prevented the use of exposure times less than 10 microseconds in some configurations, causing problems especially when measuring HVOF. This has now been fixed.
- Problem with slow shutdown of the program fixed
- Problem with horizontal stripes appearing to the picture on laptop systems fixed
- Several minor improvements and fixes
New in Features in v. 2.23 / 12.11.2003
Version 2.23 has several new features and improvements, many of them developed as a response to our customers' feedback.
New Status Page
Status page has been completely redesigned and now gives you all key spray parameters at a glance.
Improved Distribution Page
Distribution page has been improved and now offers the user information about average and peak values of the measured parameters as well as the lateral distributions.
Digital I/O and New Configuration Options
You can now get a digital output signal whenever the measured parameters are out of tolerance range and the system gives an alert. You can also start and stop measurement by external TTL signal to sychronize measurement to a production process. Lots of new configuration options have been added, too. The software can be configured to start automatically without prompting the user. Data logging and HTML reporting now have more options to better fit the functions to specific applications. History graph scale ranges can now be saved in Profile files to create an application-specific display look.
New in v. 1.43 / 16.05.03
Substrate temperature measurement bug of v. 1.42 has been fixed.
New Features in SprayWatch software v. 1.42 / 13.05.03
Automatic startup
You can now configure SprayWatch software to start measuring and monitoring the process automatically when the program is started. Startup dialogs can be skipped by setting the desired startup options in SprayWatch.ini file.
New Features in v. 1.41 / 14.04.03
Automatic spray detection
SprayWatch software now automatically recognizes when the spray is on and in the measurement position. If there is now spray in the field of view, the system is in Stand By mode. When the spray is found, the system starts measuring automatically. The feature is useful when SprayWatch is installed into a stationary position and the spray gun is driven to the measurement position occasionally to check the particle parameters.

New Features in v. 1.40
Latest update to SprayWatch software (version 1.40) contains several improvements to the previous version. At the first glance the user interface looks the same, intuitive and easy-to-use as in the previous version. The biggest improvements are in the new Profile file format which brings more freedom and possibilities to the user to configure SprayWatch for different processes and applications.
New Profile file format and user interface
Profile file is a configuration file that is used to
- Configure SprayWatch software for a spraying process
- Store measured reference values of the process
- Store information (spraying parameters etc.) about the process
- Store acceptable limits for the measured parameters
Once a Profile file has been created for a process, user can start measuring that process immediately without any configuration work by just loading the right Profile file.
Already in the previous versions it was possible to save information such as acceptable limits of the measured parameters to a process-specific Profile file. But the new version takes the idea much further and has much more parameters than can saved. In addition, the user can easily add his or her own section and keys to the Profile file.
In addition of spraying parameters, reference data and limits, the user can now configure settings of the SprayWatch software through the Profile file. For example, data logging settings and the usage of the optional infrared substrate thermometer can now be configured through a process-specific Profile file.
Profile files are now managed through a new user interface. User can easily browse the Profile file and even add his or her own data to the Profile.
User levels
In previous versions it was possible to lock the user interface to prevent accidental or unauthorized changes of settings. Version 1.40 introduces user levels so that different permissions can be given to different user groups. For example, process parameters and acceptable limits can be defined at Administrator / process engineer level and used by User / spray technician level users.
Version 1.40 introduces User and Administrator user levels.
Touch screen use
Most SprayWatch units are shipped with touch screen. For this reason, touch screen use of the software has been made easy. Profile key values and passwords can no be typed using a touch screen keypad so it is not necessary to use the keyboard any more.
The new keypad function lets you to type text and numbers using the touch screen.
Help page
A help page has been added. You can now view the User's Manual or Oseir's homepage (requires an internet connection) right on the SprayWatch user interface.
