Several parameters affect the quality of thermally sprayed coatings. In order to reach high reproducability and quality of the coatings, it is necessary to control and monitor these key parameters.
SprayWatch helps you by directly measuring and monitoring the most important particle parameters that affect your coating. These parameters include:
- Particle temperature
- Particle velocity
- Particle flow
- Spray width, vertical position and angle
- Target surface temperature (optional)
Monitoring these parameters can be used to detect possible problems in production, such as:
- Wrong spraying parameters
- Changes in gas flows and input power
- Wearing of electrodes
- Clogging and wearing of nozzle and powder feeder
- Overheating of the target

By monitoring the particle properties, it is possible to replace electrodes and other torch consumables only when the wear starts to affect the particle properties. It is also possible to compensate small amounts of wear by slight changes in process parameters to bring back the original particle temperature and velocity.
SprayWatch is also great for collecting data necessary for quality and process control and data needed for parts that require full tracing of process parameters during manufacturing.
SprayWatch can be easily set up for process monitoring. The system gives an alarm when process parameters fall outside the limits. The system can also generate reports in ASCII or HTML format.
